Patrick heads to DC for funeral

Governor Deval Patrick will attend a funeral in Washington, D.C. today for the husband of Susan Liss, the director of federal legislative affairs for the Massachusetts' Office of Federal-State Relations.

The office serves as the administration's liaison with the congressional delegation and advises the administration on federal legislation affecting Massachusetts.

Patrick canceled his planned appearance before the Massachusetts Taxpayers Foundation this afternoon because of the trip, his office said.
