Woman hit, killed by train in Wilbraham
By Amanda I. Bergeron, Globe Correspondent
A freight train struck and killed a woman early this morning who was on the tracks in Wilbraham, police said.
The woman, who was not identified, appeared to have been waiting on the tracks at about 2:30 a.m., said Wilbraham police Captain Roger Tucker. The woman did not get out of the way in time of the eastbound Conrail freight train, Tucker said.
The woman, who appeared to be between 30 and 50 years old, was pronounced dead at the scene, Tucker said.
