Man faces charges after shooting in Lawrence
A 41-year-old man allegedly fired shots from his car at another motorist in Lawrence last night then fled onto the highways, where he was eventually captured by State Police.
Rodney Harper of Lawrence is to be arraigned today in Lawrence District Court on attempted murder and other charges.
State Police Lieutenant Eric Anderson said Harper allegedly fired the shots on Mount Vernon Street at South Broadway, then drove onto Interstate 495.
Harper then drove from I-495 onto Interstate 93 southbound in Wilmington, where a state trooper tried to stop him shortly after 10 p.m.
Harper refused to stop, but Sergeant Dennis Bertulli followed Harper off the highway at Exit 38 to Route 129, then pulled him over and arrested him. A gun was found in the car, Anderson said.
Harper also faces several firearms and traffic charges.
