An 18-year-old Arlington High School student was killed early this morning when the car he was riding in veered off Westminster Avenue and hit a house, police said.

Paul Leone was a passenger in the car driven by a classmate. The car crashed at about 12:15 a.m., police said.

The driver, Matthew Clarke, 18, of Arlington, was rushed to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston and was being treated for injuries that police did not describe.

Police said in a statement that speed appeared to be a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
