Falmouth police find missing 9/11 plaque
By Khristopher Flack, Globe Correspondent
Falmouth Police have recovered what they believed to be a missing September 11th memorial plaque after following an anonymous tip received by a local newspaper.
The bronze plaque commemorates Neilie Casey, of Wellesley, who died in the attacks. It was mounted on a bluff overlooking Vineyard Sound before being taken last month. Casey was a TJX Co. employee aboard American Airlines Flight 11.
Police recovered the plaque on Thursday but would not say were it was found. They followed a tip given to the Falmouth Enterprise newspaper. There have been no arrests.
Falmouth Police sent the plaque to the Bureau of Criminal Investigation at the Barnstable County Sheriff's Office to be processed for fingerprints.
