$15 million gift establishes Center for Israel Studies at Brandeis

A $15 million gift to Brandeis University will help establish a center to promote Israel’s history, language, and culture this fall.

The Schusterman Center for Israel Studies will educate graduate-level students at Brandeis and offer training, resources, and scholarship opportunities for faculty at other universities.

"Israel is such an important nation, and yet on many US campuses, it is rarely studied with any seriousness," said Lynn Schusterman, chairwoman of the Charles and Lynn Schusterman Family Foundation, in a statement. "It's time we greatly enhance and expand academic scholarship about Israel and its people."
