3-year-old bitten in face by family dog

A 3-year-old boy in Hyde Park received several stitches today after he was bitten in the face by his family’s pet terrier.

The boy was playing with a ball at his family’s home when the dog snapped at him and cut his face, said his father, who declined to give his name. The boy was rushed to Children’s Hospital Boston at about 11:30 a.m.

The family has had the terrier for several years, the father said.
