In rollover, truck spills trash and closes ramp in Peabody

A tractor trailer hauling garbage rolled over in Peabody this morning and spilled trash across the ramp that connects Route 1 north to Interstate 95.

The truck rolled over at 8:26 a.m. and blocked all lanes of the ramp, which is expected to remain closed for some time while the trash is removed.

Traffic is being diverted further north on Route 1. Travelers are advised to seek alternate routes to avoid heavy congestion.
