One dead in Avon crash
By Danielle Capalbo, Globe Correspondent
State police are investigating a crash yesterday afternoon on Route 24 in Avon that killed a 59-year-old Raynham man.
Frederick R. Cournoyer lost control of his car at around 4:10 p.m., crashing into the guardrail in the median. He then collided with a pick-up truck, said Lieutenant Eric Anderson, a state police spokesman.
Cournoyer, who was not wearing his safety belt, was ejected from his car. An ambulance transported him to Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton where he later was pronounced dead.
Brian L. Kendrew, 46, of East Bridgewater, who was driving the pick-up, was not injured, said Anderson.
