Woman sought in New Year's Eve hit and run fatal
By Globe Staff
Law enforcement authorities are looking for a 27-year-old Winthrop woman who has been indicted in a New Year's Eve hit and run accident that killed a Revere man.
A Suffolk County grand jury has handed up indictments charging Milena Johana Henao Giraldo with motor vehicle homicide and leaving the scene of an accident.
Giraldo allegedly struck 61-year-old George Azarian who was crossing Ocean Avenue in Revere at the Shirley Avenue crosswalk on Dec. 31, 2006.
"George Azarian was left to die alone in a crosswalk," Suffolk District Attorney Daniel F. Conley said in a statement. "He deserved better. We can't return him to those who loved him, but we can do everything in our power to bring the person responsible for his death to justice."
