Man killed, woman injured in crash on West Roxbury Parkway

A man who wasn't wearing a seat belt was killed this morning when the car in which he was riding hit a tree on the West Roxbury Parkway, State Police said.

Thomas Prata, 56, of Hyde Park, was killed in the crash at 6:10 a.m. near Belgrade Avenue, police said. The driver of 2005 Honda Electra, Karen Prata, 49, also of Hyde Park, was wearing a seat belt and suffered minor injuries. She was taken to Brigham and Women's Hospital.

"The accident is still under investigation," aid Trooper Thomas Murphy, a State Police spokesman.
