Man pleads guilty in 2005 electrocution death
By David Abel, Globe Staff
A Dorchester man pleaded guilty today to manslaughter for the 2005 electrocution death of 23-year-old Theodore "T.J." Faulk, who was killed when a fight between the two ended on the third rail of the train tracks at the Fields Corner MBTA station, prosecutors said.
Willie Bizzell, 21, will be sentenced next month after a mental health evaluation.
A court clinician found Bizzell competent to assist in his own defense, but two mental health professionals – including one retained by prosecutors – found he lacked the capacity to appreciate the risks of fighting near the 600-volt third rail of the MBTA Red Line, prosecutors said.
"This case presented a truly unique set of facts," Suffolk District Attorney Daniel F. Conley said in a statement. "We hope the defendant's admissions provide some solace to T.J.'s family. There are no words to describe what they have gone through since his death."
