Middleborough details casino pact
By Sean P. Murphy, Globe Staff and Christine Wallgren, Globe Correspondent
The town of Middleborough today disclosed the fine print of its agreement with the Mashpee Wampanoag tribe to host the state's first casino.
The 45-page pact is posted here, and also on the town's website.
Under the deal, announced Friday, the town would get at least $11 million a year, $4 million more than previously agreed, plus $250 million for one-time infrastructure improvements.
The agreement is scheduled to go before a Town Meeting on Saturday. If approved, the $1 billion resort casino would still need approval from the state and federal governments.
