The MBTA Transit Police today arrested two Roxbury brothers and charged them with shooting a man in the leg on June 28 on an Orange Line subway.

According to an MBTA Police statement, Jeremy Thomas,18, and Jonathan Thomas, 20, were arrested at 6 a.m. today in their apartment on Wardman Road. Transit Police allege that the Thomas brothers were responsible for a shooting at Ruggles Station that hospitalized a 19-year-old man with wounds to the arm and leg.

Police have not released the name of the victim.

Transit Police recovered four firearms, including an assault rifle, a loaded 45-caliber handgun, and two revolvers, from the Thomas’s apartment. During the arrest, transit police fired three shots, but no one was injured.

Both Jeremy and Jonathan Thomas are charged with armed assault with intent to murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, unlawful possession of a firearm, and discharging a firearm. They will be arraigned in Roxbury District Court Monday morning.
