Dawn casts West Roxbury fire scene in grim light

Firefighters stood on Centre Street this morning outside the site of a four-alarm blaze at a restaurant where two of their colleagues died and 12 were injured.

Investigators this morning removed the 3-ton air conditioning unit that crashed through the restaurant roof while firefighters were battling the blaze. It was unclear what role the air conditioner played in the firefighter deaths and injuries.
