By Globe Staff
A man accused of a fatal stabbing during a June bar fight in South Boston is facing additional charges after a grand jury indicted him today for attempted murder.
Bernard Piscopo, 38, is now also accused of stabbing Thomas Browne, 24, three times in the back and shoulder during the fight on June 17 at The 6 House bar. Browne received about 40 stitches after the brawl.
Piscopo has already pleaded not guilty to murder in district court for the death Browne’s friend, Adam Rich, 26. According to the Suffolk district attorney’s office, Rich and another man were thrown out of The 6 House after getting in a fight with Piscopo and several other people.
Rich came back into the bar and punched Piscopo in face, knocking him off his feet, prosecutors said. Piscopo grabbed a knife, stood up, and stabbed Browne and Rich, who died after being hit the back, chest, stomach, legs, and hand, prosecutors said.
Piscopo will be arraigned Tuesday in Suffolk Superior Court on charges that also include second-degree murder and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
