Wall collapses on construction worker in Cambridge
By Emily A. Canal, Globe Correspondent
Construction workers had to hold up sections of a brick wall that collapsed on top of a colleague today while emergency workers rushed to the scene at the Cambridge Public Library.
The worker suffered a severe head injury and was rushed Massachusetts General Hospital, according to Lieutenant Edward Enos of the Cambridge Fire Department.
"When we arrived at the scene two other employees were holding sections of wall off the victim," Enos said.
The name and the condition of the victim were not released. He works for Act Abatement Corp., a demolition company. The wall collapsed at about 9 a.m. when workers had taken a rest, Enos said.
