« Amesbury voters reject tax cut | Main | Concord vote set for Wednesday, Nov. 14 » Friday, November 9, 2007How to spend Community Preservation Act money?More taxdollars are on the line in Wareham, where some political activists are fuming over some $1.1-million given to a property owner for her beachfront land. The money is coming from Community Preservation Act funds, but the larger issue is how residents and towns spend tax increase revenue. "We're disappointed we were too late to stop the money from being used, but we also realize we made a point and put the spotlight on CPA funds and how they are used, not just for our town but for other towns," local businessman John Decas told the Globe. "The money should be used as it was intended, not like an ATM machine. Then it's just a back-door way of overriding Proposition 2 1/2." Posted by David Dahl, Regional Editor at 08:42 AM
