Battle of weekend warrior

WE HAVE A gung-ho president who is doing a job on the national budget with a war that most people are beginning to question. We have a president who failed to keep his own obligation when he was in the Texas Air National Guard. And he went into the National Guard to avoid Vietnam. Today, members of the National Guard have been in combat in Iraq, and their role is being expanded. Troops are exhausted, on edge, and left wondering when they will be allowed to go home.

They are facing sandstorms, exhausting heat, poor meals, and guerrilla warfare. These weekend warriors are writing letters home that are sad and confused about the future.

President Bush has two daughters and they have not volunteered for the armed forces like their dad. They are avoiding involvement and danger.
