God and the environment

THE PRESIDENT in his State of the Union speech spoke of God and religion, but didn't mention the environment. I fail to see the distinction. Is not what God made holy? Is it not un-Christian to defile the waters he made for his creatures to drink, or the air for them to breathe? Is it not reverent to protect all the wonders he made alive?
