Genocide in Sudan

THANK YOU for your coverage of the crisis in Sudan. While much of the media coverage in this country continues to focus on the humanitarian emergency in Darfur, we must not lose sight of the fact that this humanitarian crisis is but a part of an ongoing genocide being carried out by the Sudanese government. The horrific fate of the thousands dead and the millions facing disease and starvation in Darfur is the result of genocidal actions on the part of the government in Khartoum.

As hundreds of people die each day, the United States and the United Nations continue to engage in attempts at diplomacy with the very government that is bent on destroying its own people. The Bush administration should call the events in Darfur by its rightful name -- genocide.
