All those who care about morality, freedom, human life, and ethical national conduct are refraining from making any purchases on this day.
We must use the only weapon we have -- the dollar -- to send a message to the people in power that we do not support imperialism; we do not support the invasion of a nation based on false premises; we do not support the sacrifice of American and Iraqi lives in quixotic adventures; we do not endorse bankrupting the national Treasury to sow death, destruction, and mayhem where no threat to our national security existed; we do not support a policy of world hegemony that covets the resources of other nations and leaves in its wake the broken lives of American service families and Iraqi citizens.
And we do not support an administration that plans to dismantle Social Security, that refuses to create a decent healthcare system for all, that willingly squanders our tax dollars on bloated budgets for war profiteers, and that is pushing the US economy into a crushing debt that reaches into the trillions.
But, yes, we do support our troops in the only rational way possible: by opposing those who have sent them on this feckless suicide mission.
