Law advocacy is fowl play

WITH REVELATIONS of Bush administration payments to conservative opinion writers Armstrong Williams and, now, Maggie Gallagher, I wonder if we shouldn't ask the same question of cartoonist Bruce Tinsley. After all, the Jan. 24-27 "Mallard Fillmore" strips are little more than an outright shill for Bush's effort to create private -- excuse me, personal -- savings accounts.

Conservatives cry foul whenever "Doonesbury" skewers one of their causes, but I've never seen Gary Trudeau use his strip to promote legislation.

If it walks like a duck, well . . .
