Give peace chance at Super Bowl

I AGREE with Steve Morse that Paul McCartney's performance at the Super Bowl was classy, wholesome, and safe ("Sir Paul comes to the NFL's rescue", Feb. 7). I wonder, however, what a difference it would have made if, instead of singing "Live and Let Die" with its war-like display of smoke and firepower, McCartney had done John Lennon's "Give Peace a Chance." Perhaps, though, peace would have been deemed too controversial a sentiment for national TV.
