Graft, greed, corruption, and cronyism

IT IS MY understanding that a blind trust is supposed to be just that, blind. Senate majority leader Bill Frist was not supposed to even know which stocks were in the trust, nor was he to have anything to do with the administration of these stocks while he is in office. If his stocks tanked, so be it. However, he not only knew what stocks were in there, but ordered some of them sold, which put him on questionable ground.

Frist is just another in a long line of money-grubbers infecting our government. There's Vice President Dick Cheney and his money from Halliburton. And now there's House majority leader Tom DeLay and his numerous ethics violations. Our government is being run like an organized crime family. There seems to be graft, greed, corruption, and cronyism rampant at every level.

If the government can put Martha Stewart in jail for lying to a prosecutor (not even for insider trading, just supposedly lying), we can certainly find room in our jails for all those who have taken the public trust and flushed it down the toilet.
