Site would sit in a flight path

WITH FLIGHT delays at Logan Airport already a problem, a proposed LNG terminal on Outer Brewster Island could make it worse.

The Federal Aviation Administration diverts flights away from tankers serving the Everett LNG terminal. It follows that the agency will divert them away from LNG tankers parked in Boston Harbor right under a major airline departure path.

A new LNG terminal on Outer Brewster Island would not replace the Everett facility but would be an additional facility built by a competing firm.

Boston and Everett will not see fewer LNG tankers if the Outer Brewster proposal is built. However, we may see even greater delays at Logan and more planes over our suburban skies if more planes are diverted away from Boston Harbor.
