I GREW UP in Crow Point, and every morning in the summer I would get on my bike and meet my friends at the little beach. At that time Melville Walk was a dirt road to the two houses at the end of the road. Small boats were launched there, and all cars went home and the boats left for a day visiting the islands in the area.
It's a shame one owner wants to deny the kids and anybody else in the neighborhood that luxury.
That area was a major vacation spot for many people in the pre-'60s . They would take the ferry from Boston and stay at the hotel that stood where houses now are. I say lighten up and enjoy the fantastic view and let the few people who like the beach go when they want to. And get rid of that ugly gate.
