The housed and housed-not
YESTERDAY'S FRONT page featured the revelatory news that housing will remain unaffordable for many working families in the Boston area ("Home costs stay beyond reach of many").
Below that was outlined the plight of a childless academic couple, with jobs at Harvard and Yale, an open offer from Stanford, and two houses ("Dual careers worry academia").
I'm sure the Globe's wealthier readers found both stories quite informative and compelling. However, for the other 99 percent -- including many academics -- who struggle daily to find permanent jobs, support families, and make ends meet in New England, the juxtaposition of the stories was laughably bizarre.
