Sour notes sounded over T's music

WHILE WAITING for a Red Line train at South Station yesterday morning, I had the privilege of being subjected to the T's latest harebrained idea: an onslaught of loud, intrusive, and vapid drivel called T-Radio ("T gives music a test run," City & Region, Oct. 11). Who ever thought that commuters need more noise on crowded platforms as they wait for packed trains? Why doesn't the T let its customers continue to make their own discreet listening choices via headphones, and focus its efforts and scarce resources on the prevention of frequent train breakdowns, delays, and overcrowding? What will be next? T-Radio on trains, commuter rail, and buses?

Yet another argument to get back into the car.

I WOULD so much rather hear Daniel Grabauskas, general manager of the T, than Neil Diamond. Save the sound system for emergency announcements, and spare us your musical preferences.
