Ethanol for all

My column today on ethanol as an alternative fuel for the US brought a number of interesting questions from readers on matters that couldn't be dealt with in one short piece.
However, the Natural Resources Defense Council has examined many of the issues involved, from the economics and energy balance of ethanol production to the land-use issues and environmental effects to the best way of bringing ethanol into widespread use to its long-term promise as an energy source.
