* Barbara Walters presents the 10 most fascinating people of 2003 on "Barbara Walters Presents the 10 Most Fascinating People of 2003," at 9 p.m. on Channel 5.

* It's a fierce nice-a-thon on "PrimeTime," as Diane Sawyer interviews Oprah Winfrey about her humanitarian interests. The show is at 10 p.m. on Channel 5.* Lee Majors guest stars on "Jake 2.0," at 9 p.m. on Channel 38. Today he'd be more like a 60 million dollar man.

* Mo Rocca's "Smoking Gun TV: Awards" recalls the scandals of 2003 at 8:30 p.m. on Court TV. But can it fit Courtney Love, Michael Jackson, Liza Minnelli, and Rush Limbaugh into only a half-hour?

*

And the best new TV character of the year award goes to Seth Cohen of "The O.C.," at 9 p.m. on Channel 25.
