On March 9, three civilians were killed in Iraq, shot on the road between Karbala and Hilla. US-trained Iraqi policemen are in custody. It is unclear whether the officers were working for insurgents or acting on their own. The victims were Robert J. Zangas and Fern Holland, both Americans, and Salwa Ourmashi, an Iraqi.
