For the past 10 years, the Attleboro native has worked as a chiropractor on Newbury Street. But the itch to satisfy his "creative side" resulted in his first short film, "A Stranger Within," an "erotic thriller" now in the polishing stage.

Ferrara began production this week on his second short, "Lust for Leather," which he describes as "a PG-rated erotic comedy about a gay guy's first time in a leather bar." It wasn't easy to cast the lead in the film, he says, because it required brief nudity. Actor Peter Berman eventually landed the role, with a host of local extras playing customers in the bar. Locations for the two-day video shoot included the Ramrod leather bar on Boylston Street and a loft at Fort Point.

The writer/director expects to finish editing his film in a few months and will then submit it to festivals.
