Volunteer Opportunities
The Greater Boston Jewish Coalition for Literacy seeks volunteer literacy tutors for one-on-one sessions with kindergarten to third-grade students. All new volunteers must attend one of the following training sessions prior to beginning their commitment. Training will take place in four-hour blocks and will focus on relationship building, school culture, technical skills, and engaging literacy activities. Once trained, tutors will be placed in elementary schools, choosing from schools in any one of the following regions: Boston, Cambridge, Somerville, Framingham, Maynard, and Brockton. Please contact
MATCH-UP Interfaith Volunteers Inc. needs volunteers with dogs to visit nursing home residents in the Boston area for two to four hours a month. Training and assessment held in January.
