Teen popster Kimball wants it all

Even at 15, Cheyenne Kimball's clear about her career goals: The kid wants to be ubiquitous. ''I want to win a Grammy. I want to be on the cover of Rolling Stone. I want to be a musical guest on 'Saturday Night Live.' And I want to play arenas and have tons of people watching me," Kimball chirped yesterday during a brief Boston visit to promote her first CD, ''The Day Has Come." Kimball, who was crowned ''America's Most Talented Kid" by NBC in 2003, would seem to be on the fast track to fame. In addition to her music, Kimball's the star of her own reality show -- ''Cheyenne" -- which premieres on MTV May 31. ''It's just about me struggling in this crazy business and dealing with being, you know, like 15," said a giggling Kimball, whose entourage at St. Ann's School yesterday included her mom and a bodyguard. Who are some of her idols? ''Shannon Hoon is a huge inspiration," she said, referring to the Blind Melon singer who OD'd in 1995. ''And I look up to Mandy Moore, because she's really classy. But when it comes to music, I'm my own person."

The Bombers bring out some heavy hitters

Nothing says full house like Sox-Yanks at Fenway. Among those expected at the park last night were former New Kid Joey McIntyre and his ''On Broadway" castmates Sean Lawlor and Lucas C. Rodney.

Designer Joseph Abboud was in the house, as was actor Billy Baldwin, who signed a few autographs before the game. On the guest list at the new State Street Pavilion and EMC Club were corporate kahuna Jack Welch, Automotive Management CEO Charles Ribakoff, Sovereign Bank prez Joe Campanelli, Cheers owner Tom Kershaw, K Capital Partners' Abner Kurtin, politico Ed Jesser, and Bank of America marketing maven Anne Finucane. Country act Lonestar crooned the national anthem while Boston Children's Museum prez Lou Casagrande, Brooklyn Children's Museum prez Carol Enseki, and former Big East commish Dave Gavitt were picked to throw out the first pitches.

A glimpse of Levine in Met book

If you're looking for profound insight into James Levine, don't bother with Joseph Volpe's new book, ''The Toughest Show on Earth: My Rise and Reign at the Metropolitan Opera." Volpe, the GM of the Met, characterizes the BSO's curly-haired conductor as impossibly nice and ''allergic to confrontations." He writes ''singers love to work with Jimmy because he has the patience of an elephant." But not everyone is so sweet. The late John Dexter, a former Met production designer, judged Jimmy somewhat harshly in the book: ''Getting James Levine to make a decision would be like expecting Clytemnestra to fry you an egg." . . . This is one gig Meredith Vieira will do for free. Monday, Katie Couric's replacement will host the second annual P.T. Barnum Awards in New York to benefit her alma mater, Tufts University. The 1975 grad will honor fellow alums for their ''achievements in the arts and entertainment," including ''Late Show With David Letterman" producer Rob Burnett, choreographer Donald Byrd, lighting designer Mary Louise Geiger, and actor Dan Hedaya. . . . Autumn Reeser of ''The OC" was at Simmons over the weekend, helping Giacomo & Rondi stylists Lauren Hinkle and Mary Tsialiamanis teach prom-going high schoolers how to style their hair.
