Brady in good company at N.Y. gala

All the beautiful people -- and we mean all of 'em -- were at the annual Costume Institute Benefit Gala Monday at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in the Big Apple. With bewitching belle Bridget Moynahan on his arm, Pats signal caller Tom Brady looked snazzy as ever in a black velvet jacket. (Billed as the fashion ball of the year, the event celebrated 30 years of work by British designers, including Stella McCartney, Alexander McQueen, and John Galliano, all of whom were there.) Inside, Brady and Bridge rubbed elbows with the likes of Jessica Alba, J.Lo, Scarlett Johansson, Charlize Theron, Gisele Bundchen, and the two Joshes, Hartnett and Lucas. This weekend, Brady's off to the Barnstable Brown Gala, the party preceding the Kentucky Derby. According to the Louisville Courier-Journal, No. 12's bringing teammates Tedy Bruschi, Larry Izzo, Lonie Paxton, Mike Vrabel, and Matt Cassel.

Big names for this hall of fame

Kerry Washington, lately of ''Boston Legal," and former Pats linebacker Willie McGinest are just a few of the big names being inducted into the Boys & Girls Clubs of America's Hall of Fame tomorrow. (The ceremony is part of the organization's centennial national conference being held in Boston.) Other inductees include former CNN anchor Bernard Shaw, former Honeywell CEO Larry Bossidy, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Tony Gonzalez, Blockbuster CEO John Antioco, and Kool & the Gang. Also taking part will be Oscar winner Ben Affleck, ''Law & Order" star Courtney B. Vance -- his wife, Angela Bassett, is on the guest list -- Yankee legend Yogi Berra, tennis cutie Anna Kournikova, ''American Idol" winner Ruben Studdard, and ESPN analyst Harold Reynolds. . . . And today, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston hold the IDEAS Boston Youth Summit, moderated by CBS4 meteorologist Mish Michaels, with 300 teens slated to attend. . . . Johnny Damon returned yesterday to one of his fave Boston haunts, Restaurant L, where he had lunch with Louis Boston owner Debi Greenberg and hairstylist Mario Russo. A short time later, on Damon's recommendation, Yanks teammate Derek Jeter and girlfriend Vanessa Minnillo of MTV came in for a taste of chef Pino Maffeo's cooking.

Nantucket Film Festival improvises

Renovations to the Dreamland Theater won't be done in time for the June 14 opening of the Nantucket Film Festival, but festival organizers say the show must go on. Executive director Jill Burkhart said the Dreamland's owner, Haim Zahavi, has been issued a stop-work order, which will force the festival to find other island venues for this summer's event. ''We don't look at this as a problem but an opportunity," said Burkhart, who'll make use of the high school and the Starlight Theatre. The full festival lineup hasn't been announced yet, but director Alexander Payne and his ''Sideways" cowriter Jim Taylor will be honored and interviewed by Leonard Maltin.

McEnroe scouts out Emerson
John McEnroe walked around Emerson the other day because the tennis legend's hoping his college-bound kid Sean -- one of his three children with his actress ex, Tatum O'Neal -- will go there. (He's also looking at Occidental in LA.) While in town for the Champions Cup Boston, Johnny Mac brunched at Doyle's with old pal Bruce Wallin, a poli-sci prof at Northeastern.

Now we know why former 98 Degrees band member Jeff Timmons was such a good boy at the Peace Games fund-raiser in Boston last week. Turns out Timmons was busted in Florida just three days before for alleged drunk driving and driving without a valid license.

McIntyre on set in Hyde Park
Former New Kid Joey McIntyre was filming ''On Broadway" in Hyde Park yesterday. In the film by writer/director Dave McLaughlin, McIntyre plays a guy trying to stage a production in the back of a pub. Crews began shooting Monday in Hyde Square in Jamaica Plain and will film at the Boston Public Library and at the Skellig in Waltham.

Todd Rundgren and the New Cars made a surprise appearance at the season announcement for the Bank of America Pavilion and the Tweeter Center yesterday at the State Room downtown.
