Tonight: African-German chanteuse Lyambiko and her band open a two-night stand at the Real Deal Jazz Club. Tomorrow: Boston's official "Jazz Week" begins (see right) with an all-star benefit for New Orleans Habitat Musician's Village, featuring drummer Max Weinberg, with Phil Wilson's Rainbow Band, Henri Smith and Nat Simpkins, and the reunion of Your Neighborhood Saxophone Quartet, at the Berklee Performance Center. The Makanda Project celebrates the late underrated saxophonist/composer Makanda Ken McIntyre, with Salim Washington, Charlie Kohlhase, John Lockwood, and Yoron Israel among others, at Newton South High School. Wednesday: Dazzling guitarist Ben Monder, a regular with Lee Konitz and Paul Motian, appears with his trio at Johnny D's. Thursday: Israel-born bassist Avishai Cohen, favored sideman of everyone from Chick Corea to Alicia Keys, appears with his trio at the Regattabar. Bebop alto saxophone master Frank Morgan is at Scullers.
