Jazz picks

Tomorrow: Brazilian guitarist Sergio Brandão and his ensemble Manga-Rosa pay tribute to Antonio Carlos Jobim, the father of bossa nova, with vocalist Sofia Koutsovitis and bassist Esperanza Spalding, at the Regattabar. Sunday: Joshua Redman, saxophonist and son of Dewey Redman, brings his all-star trio featuring bassist Christian McBride and drummer Brian Blade to the Berklee Performance Center. Tuesday: Lyrical pianist Kenny Werner makes his Boston-area solo piano debut in a free concert at MIT's Killian Hall. Thursday: Saxophonist Allan Chase brings a quintet to Rutman's Violins to perform music by Sun Ra, John Coltrane, and Leadbelly, as well as original pieces. The Mingus Big Band celebrates the music of the great bassist/composer Charles Mingus at the Regattabar.
