Pals shower Moynahan with baby gifts

On Saturday, while Tom Brady was bicycling to support Best Buddies, his beauteous ex Bridget Moynahan was enjoying her baby shower in LA. The 36-year-old "I, Robot" actress, who's due to deliver Brady's baby this summer, was feted by friends, including actresses Brooke Shields and Molly Sims, who brought along a Storyopolis book bushel for the baby. (Shields' s bag was from chic boutique Petit Tresor.) We couldn't help but notice that Moynahan -- snapped by paparazzi on her way in -- was wearing a stylish, 14k-gold "mama" pendant necklace by jewelry designer Tali Gillette. No word on what, if anything, Brady may have sent, but our money's on the No. 12 onesie or Pats No Spill Sippy Cup, both of which are available at the Patriots Pro Shop. As for Brady, once his cycling duties were over, he beat it back to New York. On Sunday, he and galpal Gisele Bundchen were seen hanging out at the West Village boite Extra Virgin.

‘SNL’-inspired work goes full circle

The painting -- part of Helene Wurzel's senior thesis at BU -- is called "Girls in a Box," a not-so-subtle allusion to a certain risque "Saturday Night Live" skit featuring Justin Timberlake and Andy Samberg. "It's one of my favorite skits," said Wurzel, whose work often references pop culture. "So I put it in the painting." She's glad she did. Serendipitously, Samberg's godfather, Mark Cohen, happened to walk past the BU gallery where Wurzel's thesis work was hanging. "I e - mailed the image to Andy and told him, 'If you like it, I'll buy it for you,' " said Cohen, who once ran a film and video production company on Newbury Street. "Andy loved it and said he was flattered." The painting is about to be shipped to New York, where it'll hang in the "SNL" offices.

R.I. grad gets special gift from Farrellys

With Bobby and Peter Farrelly delivering the commencement address at Roger Williams University over the weekend, it was a good bet the filmmakers would do something out of the ordinary. The Ocean State natives randomly picked one of the 900-plus graduates to be an extra on "The Heartbreak Kid," the film they're working on with Ben Stiller and Michelle Monaghan. The lucky grad is Katie Rebecca Francisconi , who'll be flown to Los Angeles. The Farrellys didn't leave Roger Williams empty-handed, by the way. They snagged honorary doctorates.

Wine festival suits Belichick’s taste

Patriots coach Bill Belichick and his galpal, Linda Holliday, attended the last big event of the Nantucket Wine Festival on Sunday, catching up with the fest's founder Denis Toner and executive director Frank Neer. The Grand Tasting event was held at the Nantucket Yacht Club and featured chefs from around the country, including Jimmy Bradley of the Red Cat in New York and Kevin Williamson from Ranch 616 in Austin, Texas.

Chiklis shines on in Boston Common
The new issue of Jason Binn's glossy mag Boston Common has Michael Chiklis and Julianne Nicholson on the cover. Chiklis, a Lowell native who plays vicious Vic Mackey on "The Shield," admits he initially was bothered about going bald. "It was traumatic as a 20-year-old actor to start losing my hair," says the BU grad. "Well, I'm here to tell you . . . a lot of women think it's sexy, so let it shine, guys." . . . Oscar-winner Marcia Gay Harden and Joe Pantoliano will bring their buzzed-about movie "Canvas" to the Nantucket Film Festival. Also expected at the festival, opening June 13, is Provincetown's Michael Cunningham. The Pulitzer-winning author of "The Hours" co-wrote the screenplay for "Evening," the opening-night film. Boston screenwriter William Monahan, who won an Oscar for "The Departed," will join "Monster's Ball" producer Lee Daniels and documentarian Rachel Grady on the jury for the writer/director award. . . . Boston's Rappaport family was out in full force last weekend at L'Auberge de Sedona to celebrate the Arizona wedding of James Rappaport Jr. and Elizabeth "Teddie" Hansen. The groom is the son of Valerie Hebert and Jim Rappaport, chairman of the New Boston Fund.

Epstein in-law Dan Futterman was everywhere at the Cannes Film Festival yesterday, where his new film "A Mighty Heart" was screened. Futterman, who's married to Sox GM Theo Epstein's sister Anya, plays slain journalist Daniel Pearl in the movie, directed by Michael Winterbottom and based on the book by Pearl's widow, Mariane Pearl, played by Angelina Jolie.
