Tonight: Bravura trombonist Conrad Herwig brings his "Latin Side of Miles, 'Trane, and Wayne" septet to the Regattabar. Swinging saxophonist Scott Hamilton appears with a quintet featuring hot Brazilian trumpeter Claudio Roditi at Scullers. Tonight and tomorrow night: The Dave Brubeck Quartet makes two area appearances -- tonight at the Berklee Performance Center, tomorrow night at Harvard's Sanders Theatre. Sunday: Acclaimed Swedish trumpet and flugelhorn player Peter Asplund and his quartet are at the Lily Pad. Monday: The Music Workshop series presents the Jeff Kimmel Trio, with the leader playing bass clarinet, Kim Cass on bass, and drummer Luther Gray, at the Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge in Hyde Park. Tuesday: Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey and local heroes Club d'Elf provide a double dose of adventurous grooves and improvisations at the Regattabar. Wednesday: Two Israel-born and Boston-based musicians, guitarist Issi Rozen and pianist Gilad Barkan, bring their overlapping quartets to Ryles.
