Lohan turns herself in

Lindsay Lohan turned herself in to face charges of driving under the influence in connection with the Memorial Day weekend hit-and-run crash that sent her into rehab. Accompanied by her lawyer, the 21-year-old actress surrendered at the Beverly Hills Police Department Thursday afternoon to be fingerprinted and photographed, said officer Brian Ballieweg. She also faces a misdemeanor charge of hit and run, he said. Lohan was released on recognizance. She and two other adults were in her 2005 Mercedes SL-65 convertible when she lost control and crashed into a curb and shrubs, police said. Last week Lohan checked out of a rehabilitation center after more than six weeks. (AP)

No 'Turner Day' for Ike
Ike Turner will have the stage, but not the day, when he performs in St. Louis in September. Mayor Francis Slay has turned down a request to make Sept. 2 "Ike Turner Day." The singer, 75, is scheduled to perform that day at the Big Muddy Blues Festival. Cathy Smentkowski, an aide to Slay, said that the mayor "did not feel comfortable" with the request, but did not elaborate. Turner's past troubles include a 17-month stint in jail on a 1990 drug conviction. He was depicted as a violent and abusive husband in "What's Love Got to Do With It," a movie about ex-wife Tina Turner . (AP)
