Britney Spears's marriage to Kevin Federline officially ended yesterday. "They are divorced," the pop star's attorney, Laura Wasser, said after a Superior Court hearing. "Everything is finalized." Court Commissioner Scott Gordon signed orders for dissolution of marriage, an alimony agreement and child custody. The alimony agreement will not be made public unless there is an enforcement issue, Wasser said. "Most of that tracks the prenup," the attorney said, without elaborating. The child custody order was tentatively sealed, pending an Aug. 14 hearing. "The best interests of the children could be harmed" if the arrangement were not sealed, Gordon said. Spears, 25, and Federline have two sons, 22-month-old Sean Preston and 10-month-old Jayden James. (AP)

An end to 'Simple Life'
Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie are saying goodbye to "The Simple Life." The series finale will air Sunday on E!, the channel announced yesterday. The program, which debuted on Fox in 2003, threw the privileged duo into everyday situations. This season, the reality show reunited Hilton, 26, and Richie, 25, as drama camp counselors after they feuded and filmed their parts separately for the previous season. "In this last escapade, Paris and Nicole write their own play in tribute to their decades-long friendship, enlisting the help of celebrity counselor Sally Kirkland to lead the production," E! said in a release. Jenna Elfman has welcomed her first child, a son named Story Elias. The baby was born July 23 in Los Angeles. He weighed 7 pounds, 2 ounces, Elfman's publicist, Jenni Weinman, said yesterday. Elfman and actor Bodhi Elfman were married in 1995. The 35-year-old actress played free-spirited Dharma Finklestein Montgomery in the ABC comedy series "Dharma & Greg," which ran from 1997 to 2002. Kelly Osbourne will make her West End debut in "Chicago." Osbourne, 22, will join the cast at London's Cambridge Theater, playing the role of prison matron Mama Morton during a seven-week run starting Sept. 10, the theater said yesterday. She found fame on the reality show "The Osbournes" alongside her parents, Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne, and her brother, Jack. Meanwhile, Ozzy Osbourne was doing well after undergoing a "minor outpatient procedure" late Saturday at Rose Medical Center in Denver, his representatives said. He was released early Sunday. KUSA-TV in Denver reported the 58-year-old rocker underwent surgery for a blood clot in his leg. (AP)'View' cohosts?
Elisabeth Hasselbeck is remaining coy about reports that Sherri Shepherd and Whoopi Goldberg will be announced as her new co-hosts on "The View" -- but she did give the latter a ringing endorsement. "I loved working with Whoopi Goldberg," the pregnant Hasselbeck told People magazine during a fund-raiser for the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund over the weekend. "She is soulful, has a world of experience to bring to the table, and I don't sense any sort of political agenda," she added. The comments seem to be in direct contrast to Hasselbeck's feelings about Rosie O'Donnell, with whom she clashed on political issues before O'Donnell abruptly left the show. Barbara Walters confirmed that the announcement will be made this week. (People.com)© Copyright 2007 Globe Newspaper Company.
