NBC Entertainment cochairman Ben Silverman dropped by Tanglewood Monday night to catch up with his dad, composer Stanley Silverman, whose music was part of the evening's "Film Night" program. The elder Silverman wrote the scores for "Simon" and "I'm Dancing as Fast as I Can," both of which were included in the evening's lineup. A Tufts alum and Pittsfield native, Ben, 36, was a TV producer who worked on "Ugly Betty" and "The Office," before NBC brought him in at the end of May.
A premiere event with Afflecks in October
"Gone, Baby, Gone" will premiere in Boston four days before it's released everywhere. Word is Miramax wants to premiere Ben Affleck's directorial debut on Oct. 15, though the studio isn't saying which of the movie's cast members may attend the shindig. The film, based on Dennis Lehane's book and shot around South Boston last summer, stars Ben's brother Casey Affleck, Morgan Freeman, and Michelle Monaghan. It opens nationwide Oct. 19.
Prime minister on Cape? Maybe next year
When he was merely the chancellor of the exchequer, Britain's Gordon Brown liked to holiday on Cape Cod -- at the Wequassett Inn in Chatham, to be exact. But now that Brown has become the country's prime minister, scheduling and security concerns could prevent him from making the scene, at least this summer. Brown, who honeymooned at the Wequassett in 2000, hasn't decided yet where he'll spend his August vacation, but it'll likely be in the UK, said Joseph Pickerill of the British Consulate-General for New England. Should Brown surprise us and show up on the Cape, we're told senators John Kerry and Ted Kennedy have both invited him to spend a little time at their humble vacation homes.
Khazei returns to Ch. 7
After a six-year break from the airwaves, Kim Khazei will return to Channel 7 as an anchor on Monday. Khazei will anchor the 4 and 5:30 p.m. newscasts on WHDH and contribute to the 10 p.m. news on Channel 56 and the 11 p.m. news on WHDH. "It's nice when you can come back to your career," said Khazei, who spent the past several years at home, raising three kids. "I miss the adrenaline and being the one who is able to bring the news to people and provide that service." Khazei's return is a homecoming of sorts for the Winchester resident, who worked at the station from 1994 to 2001. Fellow anchors are delighted that Khazei's back. "She is a wonderful voice and face to have back with us," said anchor Randy Price.
Clinton pitches in
His wife Hillary isn't the only one for whom Bill Clinton is raising money. We're told the ex-president has given a set of golf clubs to the organizers of next week's Possible Dreams Auction on Martha's Vineyard. Clinton, who summered on the island while in the White House, made the donation in honor of Art Buchwald, the late, great humorist who served for many years as the event's auctioneer. (Clinton donated a single putter last summer, which went for $22,000.) Other celebs making donations include Ben Taylor, who'll take a sunset sail with the high bidder and wooden boat designer Nat Benjamin; crime writer Linda Fairstein, who'll host a dinner with Richard North Patterson; "That Girl" actress Marlo Thomas and hubby Phil Donahue, who'll hang out on their boat.
'Wild' time with Penn
Sean Penn, who won an Oscar for his role in "Mystic River," is headed back to Boston. We're told the Hollywood heavy's coming to the Hub to talk up "Into the Wild," which Penn wrote and directed. Based on the book by Jon Krakauer, "Into the Wild" is about a young man who leaves the lap of luxury to live in the Alaskan wilderness. Starring Marcia Gay Harden, William Hurt, and Vince Vaughn, the movie will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival next month.
Brazil hopes to score cup with Bundchen
How much do you want to bet Brazil's bid to host the 2014 World Cup is a winner? It has enlisted its sexiest celebrity -- Gisele Bundchen -- to help make the case to FIFA, the organization that will decide where the soccer tourney is played. Word is the Brazilian Confederation of Soccer asked Tom Brady's girlfriend to be the "face" of its World Cup campaign. On Oct. 29 -- the day after the Pats play the Redskins at Gillette Stadium -- Bundchen will be in Zurich to make Brazil's final pitch. Wonder what she'll wear.

Two fans show devotion to Sox
A lot of things have changed in Lillian Eckhart's life over the past 100 years, but never her devotion to the Sox. Eckhart, who hit the century mark yesterday, celebrated the big day with a trip to Fenway. "She catches all the games and knows all the players," said Judy Walker, who arranged the outing for her aunt, a Concord resident. "She's always been a fan, we wanted her to have a chance to see the team on her birthday."
We knew Matt Damon was a big Bosox fan, we just didn't know how big. On "Live With Regis and Kelly" yesterday, cohost Regis Philbin said he bumped into "The Bourne Ultimatum" star at the movie's premiere and that our man Matt revealed something kind of weird: He wants to be buried in a Red Sox uniform, and not just any Sox uni. When this diehard is dead, he wants to be dressed in a No. 8 Sox jersey in honor of his hero Carl Yastrzemski.
Top dogs at Underdog party
Plymouth resident Buck Biggers looked right at home on the red carpet Monday at the New York premiere of "Underdog," starring Jason Lee, Amy Adams, Patrick Warburton, and Jim Belushi. Biggers, the co-creator of "Underdog," and his longtime gal, Nancy Purbeck, attended the bash as guests of Disney.
