It's a baby boy for "Baby Spice" Emma Bunton. The 31-year-old Spice Girls singer gave birth to a son, Beau, at London's Portland Hospital yesterday, a spokesman said. He is the first child for Bunton and boyfriend Jade Jones. The Spice Girls -- Bunton, Victoria Beckham, Melanie Chisholm, Geri Halliwell, and Melanie Brown -- had a string of global hits before splitting in 2001. In June they announced they were reuniting for a tour that will begin later this year. . . . Former "Roseanne" star Sara Gilbert, 32, welcomed a daughter, Sawyer, on Aug. 2, according to Variety. Top-selling rapper Ja Rule is in a legal tussle with a North Jersey contractor who claims he got stiffed for $8,000. Joel Tobia said the 31-year-old, whose real name is Jeffrey Atkins, hired him to fix a leak at his $3.5 million Saddle River mansion. A homeless man pleaded guilty yesterday to attacking a Joshua Reynolds painting with a hammer in London's National Portrait Gallery. Mark Paton, 44, was arrested Wednesday after repeatedly hitting the $3.4 million portrait of 18th-century lexicographer Samuel Johnson. He admitted criminal damage and possession of a hammer with intent to cause criminal damage during a hearing in Westminster. Lawyer Euan MacMillan said Paton had given no explanation for the attack.
