You just never know where Steven Tyler will show up. The Aerosmith frontman will be the guest on the season finale of Henry Rollins's IFC show Friday where he'll talk about the future of the band, his own history in the music biz, and the dangers of the rock world. But Friday, Tyler and his galpal, Erin Brady, took in the Sox game at Fenway Park in owner John Henry 's front-row seats, staying to the bitter, disappointing end. . . . Also at Fenway on Friday was towering Bruins captain Zdeno Chara, who took in a little batting practice. And yesterday, the Walpole Little League team was hosted by the Red Sox to mark their recent success in the Little League World Series.
'Bachelor' weekend
"Bachelor No. 2" star Dane Cook didn't take all of the Labor Day weekend off. As soon as filming on the Howie Deutch-directed flick ended for him on Friday, the Arlington-bred comic headed to his old haunts, the Comedy Connection at the Faneuil Hall Marketplace. Cook performed on both Friday and Saturday nights and stuck around to catch headliner Gerry Dee's sets. . . . Meanwhile, Cook's costars Kate Hudson and Jason Biggs squeezed in a couple of hours of filming Friday night at Clio, chef Ken Oringer's Back Bay eatery.
Brothers Damon light up 'Arthur'
Kyle Damon's gotten used to a lot of the showbiz glitz since his younger brother Matt catapulted to the big-time. But the visual artist admits that being part of the animated PBS series "Arthur" gave him a bit of a tickle. "It was something totally new," Kyle told us. The "it" is a new episode that airs today of the series based on Marc Brown's famed aardvark family in which the Oscar-winning actor provides the voice for an animated character and several of Kyle's pieces of art were included in the scenes. "To have other artists re-interpret your artwork into a new setting is so interesting," said Kyle. "I thought they were a lot more generous with Matt's abdominal muscles than my art." The Damon brothers got involved with the show because Matt did some theater at Harvard with series writer Peter Hirsch and show producer Pierre Valette owns works by Kyle. "But I have to say, I love the show, my two sons, who are older now, really engaged in [the series]," said Kyle. "Still it's all surreal." . . . As for the world-traveling Matt, he was in France with his wife, Luciana Barroso, over the weekend promoting "The Bourne Ultimatum" at the 33d American Film Festival, where buddy Ben Affleck's directorial debut "Gone Baby Gone" will have its world premiere on Wednesday. And yesterday, another little brother, Casey Affleck, who stars in Ben's movie, was at the Venice Film Festival with Brad Pitt where their film "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford" was screening.
Tom and Gisele are big news in Big Apple
Patriots QB Tom Brady and supermodel girlfriend Gisele Bundchen sent the New York tabloids and paparazzi into a frenzy as they spent a chunk of the weekend hanging out in the Big Apple. (The Internet and blogosphere was agog yesterday over No. 12's choices of headgear. On Saturday, Brady wore a blue cap sans any team's logo, but was photographed yesterday jogging wearing a Red Sox cap.) The doting duo were in Boston last week, where they were photographed coming out of chef Pino Maffeo's Boston Public restaurant after an intimate lunch. They headed to New York for the weekend and were spotted several times out on the town. And speaking of Brady, the 3-year-old filly that the QB partially owns finished just out of the money in yesterday's Irish Actress Stakes at Saratoga. Guts Game, which finished fourth, is owned by the Little Red Feather Racing partnership that counts Brady, NBA superstar LeBron James, rapper-producer Jay-Z, and Paul Lo Duca of the New York Mets among its investors.
