Tonight: A double bill featuring saxophonist/composer Ken Field's free-funk band Field Work and the far-out trumpet and electronics of Forbes Graham is at Brookline Tai Chi. Pianist Leo Genovese's Ultra Gauchos, with trumpeter Phil Grenadier, saxophonist Dan Blake, three bassists, and three drummers, is at the Lily Pad. Sunday: John Coltrane Memorial Concert Week kicks off with Aardvark Jazz Orchestra's "Coltrane Facets," featuring rare Coltrane compositions as well as Indian-influenced arrangements of some of his better known pieces, at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard. Monday: NEC pays tribute to the 30th anniversary of the Coltrane Memorial Concert with Your Neighborhood Saxophone Quartet as well as drummer Rakalam Bob Moses, bassist Cecil McBee (inset), and saxophonists George Garzone and Jerry Bergonzi, at NEC's Brown Hall. Wednesday: Acclaimed mainstream saxophonist Jimmy Greene, a Jackie McLean protégé, brings his band to Scullers. Thursday: Grammy-winning trumpeter/composer Wallace Roney is at Scullers.
