Raising the stakes
Cravings for long-lost childhood sweets can be a tortuous thing. Sure, you can still buy Twinkies or Ho Ho's, but somehow they just don't taste as good as when you were a 6-year-old sugar connoisseur. There's no going back, unless you crave a Hostess chocolate cupcake. Hi-Rise bakery makes a counterfeit version of this classic little snack cake that's tantamount to having van Gogh do a forgery of motel art -- the fake wins. Just like the original, Hi-Rise ices with a chocolate glaze and loop-de-loops white icing across the top. But the rich, moist, dark, chocolate cupcake and the fluffy, ethereal cream filling is good enough to make the land of the lost boys want to grow up.
