Boston Vegetarian Food Festival

October 20

The Boston Vegetarian Society's 12th annual fest unites health advocates and animal lovers for a day of fun, food, and information. Presiding over the event, which has more than 100 exhibitors, including vegan clothing companies, is chef and cookbook author Colleen Patrick-Goudreau, founder of Compassionate Cooks in San Francisco and a contributor to National Public Radio. Not only does the event have free admission and free parking (and handy T-access via the Roxbury Crossing Orange Line stop), there's free food sampling, too. Sounds like a case of nothing to lose, everything to gain. Wheelchair accessible. 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Reggie Lewis Athletic Center, 1350 Tremont St., Boston. 617-424-8846. bostonveg.org
