2 tablespoons butter

1/2 cup sugar

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

4 apples, peeled, quartered, cored, and thinly sliced

1/4 cup golden raisins

1 pint sour cream

12 ounces medium-size egg noodles, cooked according to package directions for 5 minutes, and drained

4 eggs

2 cups milk

Set the oven at 350 degrees. Place the butter in a 9-by-12-inch baking dish and warm it in the oven for 1 minute or until the butter melts.

Remove the dish from the oven and spread the butter all over the bottom and sides of the dish.

In a large bowl, mix together the sugar and cinnamon. Add the apples and raisins. Toss to coat them. Stir in the sour cream and fold in the noodles.

Transfer the noodle mixture to the buttered dish.

In a bowl, whisk the eggs and milk together. Carefully pour this mixture over the noodles.

Bake the kugel in the hot oven for 45 minutes or until it is firm to the touch and the top is golden. Cut into squares to serve.
