"When women are sitting around the bar drinking bourbon, you know something's going on," says Patrick Sullivan, the B-Side Lounge bartender-owner since 1998. That something is happening now. After a summer spent sipping chilled rum drinks like mojitos and dark and stormys, customers are gravitating to his $10 Whiskey Smash, made with bourbon - so it's not too sweet - crushed ice, and muddled fresh orange and lemon slices and mint. What's the draw? A taste of gentler climes helps anyone get ready for winter.
